Cayla and Eric | Brique | Chicago, Illinois

Wedding

I just just really clicked with Cayla and Eric. We had done an engagement session several months before the wedding and I just loved working with them. They were so relaxed in front of the camera, which allowed their personalities really come through in their photos. We started the day at the Ace Hotel where Cayla and Eric saw each other for the first time. The hotel allowed us to use the roof bar giving them some privacy and some super cool views of the skyline. The weather was perfect out so we casually made our way to the venue stopping for photos here and there. I just love the gritty, urban feel of the West Loop. We stumbled upon some street art to use a backdrop and made good use of the “el” tracks. Next we headed to Brique where the couple held a short, intimate ceremony for friends and family. Before the party got started, I convinced them them outside one last time to capture some portraits while the sun was setting. There was lots of construction nearby so we didn’t have much to work with, but these photos still turned out to be some of my favorite of the day. I’m so grateful to Cayla and Eric for having me be a part of their wedding day and I wish them the best!
