Kate and Patrick’s downtown Chicago wedding took place at the historical Newberry Library located in the Gold Coast. The day started at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel where the couple did their first look. We walked a few blocks to Washington Park where we continued our portraits with friends and family. The ceremony took place at the south end of the park with the library as the backdrop. I love not having the angle constraints while photographing a ceremony outside. This truly allows me to capture the important moments. Kate, Patrick, and I continued our portraits while the guests went to cocktails. The timing was just right with the sun creating a perfect golden glow around them. Once the reception started, it wasn’t long before the dance floor was filled. This group knew how to party. I had such a great day with Kate, Patrick, and their families. I was honored to be a part of such a special day!
